Preparing for a structural Institution interview
Interview panels rarely ask you to recite clause numbers. They ask how you decided a beam depth, who checked your work, and what you would do if a site report contradicted the drawing.
In tutoring sessions we rehearse two project stories: one design, one site or construction issue. Each story needs a constraint, a decision, and a result. We also practise sketching a simple frame from memory in five minutes. Candidates who only memorise theory struggle; candidates who can narrate a load path usually settle once the first sketch is on paper.
